 CAGLIARI ELMAS 2010: THE STRUCTURE
The passenger terminal building is a three-level structure.
The Domestic and International Arrivals Area is located on the ground floor.
The departure level, which is directly linked to the multi-storey car parking structure by an elevated tunnel, is located on the first floor.
There is a wide range of consumer services: shops, food and drink locations, VIP lounges, sala amica (special assistance lounge) and a chapel.
On the second floor there are a panoramic restaurant, government offices, airlines offices, and a modern business center.
The business center provides six temporary offices and modular conference rooms which can accommodate up to 180-200 people.
Valuable building materials have been used for the construction: floors are made of Sardinian granite and large walls are made of white limestone coming from Orosei. Wide inside gardens, large glass windows and a 360° panoramic view reflect brightness and colours of Sardinia.
The air terminal is free of any architectural barriers. Ramps, escalators, accessibility solutions for people with reduced mobility, guided paths, clear and comprehensible signs facilitate the access and moving around the airport. | |
