Perugia, new route by AliBlue Malta

The brand new route has been announced today: AliBlue Malta will connect Cagliari and Perugia twice a week (Fridays and Sundays) starting from July 6th 2018. The flights will be operated by the Maltese carrier Medavia. For details and tickets, please visit www.alibluemalta.com.

 

Lyon&Bordeaux: Volotea ready to start

In just two days time Volotea will begin its brand new scheduled services between Cagliari and the two French cities of Bordeaux and Lyon. The two routes will be operated weekly on Thursdays from May 31st. During S18 the Spanish low cost airline will connect the main Sardinian airport with 6 destinations in Italy (Genoa, Turin, Venice, Verona, Ancona and Naples) and 4 in France (Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes and Toulouse). New exhibition ‘Sardegna archeologica’

Focus on the archaeological past of Sardinia for 'Sardegna archeologica. Museo a cielo aperto', the new exhibition opening today at Cagliari Airport. Passengers and visitors of the air terminal will have the chance to walk among life-sized copies of the Giganti di Mont’e Prama - impressive stone sculptures carved in local sandstone discovered in the 70’s near Oristano – and reproductions of Nuragic bronze statues. Garments, pottery, tools, weapons and shields looking exactly like the ancient originals will also help to recreate the atmosphere of the early stages of Sardinian history.

‘Wildlife strike’, a workshop on safety at the airport

SOGAER joined forces with the Italian Flight Safety Committee in order to promote aviation safety through a workshop. Operators and authorities from the industry will meet tomorrow in Cagliari at the airport’s Business Centre and discuss with a panel of experts how to cut wildlife strike events. The focus will be on the possible use of drones to effectively minimize the impact of ‘Birdstrike’ and ‘Collision Wildlife’ on Italian airports and reduce related costs.

AliBlue Malta to open Trapani route tomorrow

Starting from April 27th 2018 AliBlue Malta will provide non-stop scheduled services to and from Trapani, Sicily. Passengers will be offered weekly flights until May 11th (Fridays) and two weekly from May 18th on (Fridays and Sundays). The operating carrier will be Medavia. Ryanair bets on Cagliari Airport

More destinations and more flights than ever: this is Ryanair’s plan for Cagliari Airport in 2018. The Irish low cost carrier has announced its South Sardinian network today, during a packed press conference at the airport’s Business Centre. John Alborante, Sales & Marketing Manager Italy, introduced the brand new flight connections to Manchester (twice weekly) scheduled for 2018 IATA Summer Season and six new routes for next winter. Ryanair will operate between Cagliari and Baden-Baden, Dusseldorf Weeze, Porto, Seville, Valencia and Warsaw Modlin; these destinations will be serviced twice a week.
