Volotea bets heavily on Sardinia in 2021
Volotea is growing stronger and stronger in Sardinia: with 7,490 scheduled flights in 2021 (3,500 more than in 2020) and over 900,000 seats available in the first 10 months of the year, the low cost carrier has consolidated and increased its presence in all three Sardinian airports.
Volotea has recently won the public tender for the flight routes subject to public service obligation in Sardinia and now, since October 15th 2021, connects Cagliari, Alghero and Olbia to Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate. Of the 45 destinations now featured, 35 are domestic and 24 are operated exclusively by Volotea.
Great satisfaction has been expressed by 90% of the customer surveyed and by Carlos Muñoz, CEO and founder of Volotea, who expects to employ around 200 people in the three Sardinian operational bases.
