Awareness campaign on Zika virus

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a statement on clusters of microcephaly cases and other neurological disorders in some areas affected by Zika virus.

According to the WHO statement, the Emergency Committee (EC) convened under the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR 2005) held on 1 February 2016 highlighted the importance of aggressive measures to reduce infection with Zika virus.

Cagliari Airport has joined with the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) and the Italian Department of Heath who are promoting the awareness campaign launched on ZIKA Virus.

Information on precautionary measures and recommendations for travellers are available in different areas of the air terminal (see attachment).
