Passenger traffic continues to rebound at Cagliari Airport

August 2021 saw about 520,000 passengers fly via Cagliari Airport, a 37% increase compared to August 2020. The first 8 months of 2021 showed a 27% traffic growth on a year-over-year basis with 1.25 million travellers choosing the Sardinian capital.
Around 74,000 passengers have been flying to or from Cagliari Airport from Friday 27th till Monday 30th, making last weekend a particularly busy one, especially due to the traditional surge of traffic figures related to holiday travels.
In August 2021 passenger traffic improved by 37% on both domestic and international routes, with the first ones performing even better than in August 2019, when figures hit record levels.
These results have been deemed as satisfying by SOGAER - Cagliari Airport managing company - that continues to stimulate leisure travel with a summer network of 85 direct flight connections operated throughout Italy and Europe by 22 airlines.
