Autism: Cagliari Airport lights up in blue

Cagliari Airport celebrates the World Autism Awareness Day by turning its outdoor lighting in blue on April 1st and April 2nd. Moreover, the biggest Sardinian airport has planned a series of events focused on autism related topics to be hosted at Cagliari Airport Library.

Among the events, organized over the next month with the support of the Sardinian association Diversamente ODV, there will be readings and educational workshops addressed to children and adults, families and individuals sharing the same interest in a better understanding of autism.

For Renato Branca, Cagliari Airport CEO, the key is making every single passenger feel at ease, both at the airport and during the trip. Passengers with special needs, such as the ones with autism, might take this opportunity to getting to know the airport better and enjoy a more comfortable travel experience next time they fly out of Cagliari.

Pierangelo Cappai, chair of Diversamente ODV, a strong advocate of promoting events that draw attention on autism in every context possible, believes that there is no place like the airport to start a "Happy Journey through Life" and live the motto chosen by Autism-Europe for its annual congress.
