S21: good traffic results at Cagliari Airport for Volotea

Figures describing the performance of Volotea at Cagliari Airport in August 2021 show an increase of 39% in terms of capacity, +25% passengers and +21% aircraft movements when confronted to the same month in 2019. Last August the airline operating 16 routes at Sardinia’s most important airport has recorded a load factor of 88%.

Overall traffic results for Summer 2021 shared by the low cost carrier reveal that Volotea has been able to successfully adapt its strategies to tackle COVID-19 related issues. A dynamic and solid approach to routes development, an improved management of Customer Care services and a fleet of 40 A320s operating on the carrier’s network have allowed Volotea to perform very well during Summer 21.

Focusing mainly on the domestic market and on the surging demand of flight connections to and from Italy’s most beloved islands, the airline has reshaped its network (85 new routes starting last June) to meet its customers’ requests. The results are particularly positive: more than 21,800 flights operated last season with an average load factor of 91%, more than 3.6 million seats available and an increased capacity of 111% in comparison with last year’s summer schedule.
