Sardinia campaigns again against sand theft

The Italian Customs Autority (Agenzia delle Dogane) and the Sardinian regional government (Regione Sardegna) join their forces once more against sand, rocks and shell thieves, who break the law and take nature for granted.

This year’s awareness campaign Sardinia – Carry it only in your heart targets sand, rocks and shells theft with the help of three very well-known Sardinians such as jazz musician Paolo Fresu, fashion designer Antonio Marras and Italy’s national volleyball player Alessia Orro.

The campaign is currently being broadcasted on social media and displayed by Italian and Sardinian airports in order to maximise the spreading of the message.

Tourists should have no doubt: sand, rocks and shell are no souvenirs and taking them away is not only disrespectful to Sardinia but also a crime.
